Blog- Post Assessment

My favorite restaurant is Teri Teri and, although there are many locations as of today such as 73rd street on Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen an 34th street on Bergenline Avenue in Union City, the original restaurant is located on 55th street on Bergenline Avenue in West New York. Teri Teri's is a Japanese restaurant known for it's wide variety of Japanese foods included in their menu with their own twist on the tastes. I personally love the bowl or the plate which is the combos they are most known for. The bowl is a combo that offers salad, rice, 2 California rolls, and you can pick between chicken breast, chicken teriteri, beef, or unagi, which is fresh eel. The plate offers slightly more by including 4 pieces of tempura and a side of edamame. Lately, the restaurant is known mainly for offering the best bubble tea in town. Many people would describe the meals served as far from traditional.
If this restaurant ever closed down, I'm not sure where I would go. I've been to various Japanese restaurants but none of them seem to surpass Teri Teri's. Their food doesn't taste like the traditional Japanese food they'd serve in a restaurant. The dishes seem to be more flavor-filled than regular food, therefore their food matches no other. I've been to YO! Sushi in Paramus and Miyoshi in Hackensack and I'm not quite satisfied with their food. Eventually, I would become accustomed to other Japanese restaurants if Teri Teri's were to close down but I would always miss the unique taste of the food served at Teri Teri's.

Teri Teri's is a restaurant that started off as a small business and eventually grew into something more popular. It could be considered a chain and not a family restaurant because their is no significant ancestry through which the restaurant has been passed down. The food is absolutely delicious and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys Japanese food. The food is very affordable and it is also flavorful! Go visit a Teri Teri near you!

Smart Socks Pause Netflix When You Fall Asleep

  • Netflix gives it's audience various sock designs to choose from which relate to a show
  • Later, one must knit the sock with detailed instructions on the Netflix website
  • Then you have to build your own electronic device which includes an accelerometer, which determines when your feet stop moving, IR LED's to send the signal to the streaming device, batteries and a few other components
  • Then you knit the electronic device within a few layers of the sock
  • Also, the user must use some computer programming to set up the socks
  • Lastly, some people strap a pulse sensor to their toe so that it could also send signals to the streaming device

Social Bookmarking Questions

What's another way you can organize and store information on your computers?

You can use social bookmarking websites in order to keep all your information and articles organized.

What have you learned from researching the above topics? What do you know now about those current events that you didn’t know before?

I've never really cared enough about new but after researching the topics I feel like I've learned a lot. I gained knowledge on the controversy with ISIS and about anti bullying laws.

What are other social bookmarking apps/websites?

There are other social bookmarking apps and websites like Diigo such as Delicious, Squidoo, and StumbleUpon.

Will you continue to use social bookmarking?

I will probably use social bookmarking in the future because throughout the year I'm going to have a lot of research paper and websites like Diigo allow me to keep my resources organized.

Do Now: 12/14 Writing Prompt

Many people often wish they could be invisible for many reasons. They may often want to be invisible in order to play pranks on people or to hurt people who have hurt them. I, on the other hand, would help those who need it. If I had the ability to be invisible I would probably put it to good use. I would help give a nudge to those who need it and I'd assist those who need assistance without actually being known.
For example, I have a friend who was bullied in my last school and I would use the invisibility cloak to help him defend himself. Typically, I would help him on a daily basis but once I realized he was being bullied by another friend of mine I didn't think I could interfere. I would also help the kids who lack confidence throughout the day. One instance would be when I see a doubtful kid deciding whether or not to raise his hand. I would give him that boost in confidence to answer the question. Lastly, I would help people who try to make new friends by pushing them into one another. That is just a short list of what I would do if I had an invisible cloak.

Do Now 12/7

There is one particular class that I would add to the school curriculum and that would be the Performing Arts Academy. There are many dancers, actors, and singers that should be able to identify with one single class instead of being divided into choir, glee club, musicals, and plays. In my old school, we had a program named the Performing Arts Academy and it served to unite dance, acting, and singing. If we were to have a Performing Arts Academy in Wood-Ridge High School, it would seem best for the members to meet in the auditorium on a daily basis and it could count as an elective so it would be during the period of said elective it is replacing.
In addition, the students would be able to do sign-ups, like in gym, and they would pick what they want to do for the marking period. However, every Thursday, they would be required to take a different course than the one they chose. For example, if they chose dance, then on Thursdays they would be required to take either acting or singing. This allows the student to be more well-rounded and have a wider learning experience. The members of the Performing Arts Academy would also feel very comfortable among others who share their interests and would have the ability to express themselves freely. For finals and midterms, the students could be required to work together as a class and put on a show or recital in order to prove how much they have learned throughout the entirety of their time in the class. I strongly believe that the Performing Arts Academy would be a good addition to the Wood-Ridge High School curriculum.

RSS Discussion Questions

  • Why did you select the sites you subscribed to?

  •    I selected the sites I subscribed to because they are either some of the most known websites or I have taken a personal interest in the sites.

  • Was it easy to find feeds and to subscribe to them?

  •    Some of the feeds were easy to find because they had a link to the RSS feeds on the homepage but for others you really had to dig through the site in order to find the feeds.

  • Which sites were your favorites?

  •    My favorite sites are the ones under my personal file. Those would include EDM, MoMA, Glamour, Fandango, and Rolling Stone.

  • What else can you use RSS feeds for?

  •    You can use RSS feeds to gain better access to the latest articles posted on a site.

  • How likely are you to continue to use RSS feeds in the future?

  •    I probably won't use RSS feeds in the future because the career field I'm interested in doesn't require much knowledge on technology.
